We don't know about you, but we get a little stir crazy after the Thanksgiving feast. We're full and groggy and the house is stuffy from all the heat still radiating from kitchen and then from all the bodies lying around. Alive, but lazy bodies.
Get out for some fresh air by visiting a local Christmas tree farm for a choose and cut tree. If it's not already a family tradition, make it one.
We like Worthington Christmas Tree Farm in Hampton (near Nash Farms) for its hayrides and giant hay mound. Also fun is Oma's Gourd Haus for unique handcrafted gifts.
We also like Orchard Hill Christmas Tree Farm on Old Macon Road just north of Orchard Hill for its hot chocolate and chewy cake (if you ask for the chewy cake recipe they'll give it to you). They also have hayrides and sell handmade quilted tree skirts and stockings.
Both farms are open at 9:30 a.m until dark on Thanksgiving Day. Take your camera and make some memories.
