Never Show Up Empty Handed (Or With Bathroom Tissue As a Gift)

‘Tis the season for solving the host/hostess gift quandary.  We Southerners are accustomed to bringing a goody for the party giver to show our appreciation, but what is she going to do with another box of cheese-spreading Santas?  And don't even think of pinking her... ahem... cheeks with an embarrassing roll of monogrammed toilet paper.

Let's do this right: a beautiful basket with a domestic or imported wine, a sparkling glass bottle stopper and some classy cocktail napkins, all of which he or she can use right then and there.  (The only object left at the end of the night will be the basket which, of course, has many practical uses.)

All of these items can be found at the swankest bottle shop this side of Interstate 75: Jeffrey's Bottle Shoppe on Memorial Drive in Griffin.  No time to put it together yourself? Call ahead, tell 'em how much you want to spend and they'll do the packaging for you.  (770) 233-1868

'Cause I Eats Me (Organic) Spinach

Yes, we DO have an organic grocer nearby!  YES. WE. DO.  Stop arguing and start reading.

And get someone to pinch you because, get this... they deliver to homes in Henry, Spalding and Clayton counties.  AuNaturale Market, LLC in Locust Grove, provides farm fresh organic fruits, vegetables and beef to our area.  Check out their ultra-cool web site, place an order, and seasonal fruits and vegetables will be carefully packaged and delivered to your door! The website also includes information on organic foods, healthy recipes and spotlights on different fruits and vegetables they have available.

Here’s how it works: log on to the site, play around a bit, click on "order form", select the size box you would like small, medium or large) and its contents (fruit/vegetable mix or just fruit). Grass-fed beef and organic tofu “add ons” are available. If you are concerned about what size box to get, don’t fret; they have a guide.

We’re thrilled they're working on baby food items and can’t wait for their arrival!
